2025
Natural Factors is a Canadian-based company that manufactures over 400 nutritional products, including vitamins and herbal supplements.
The Initiative
Chemical names, weird acronyms, and awful packaging. That sums up just about the average experience of purchasing some supplements from your local pharmacy.
I took the opportunity to re-design some popular supplements from Natural Factors, ones that I often purchase myself. My goal is to simplify and improve the packaging for those that chemistry isn't their strong-suit, using graphic design principles and creative problem solving.
My Approach
Applying information architecture to some of these products and choosing a more consumer friendly naming convention for the H1/ CTA. For example:
Instead of a complicated name revolving around melatonin, I'd use "Sleep".
With serotonin products, I'd use "Happy".
With L-Theanine products, I'd use "Calm" or "Stress"
Design Process
Backgrounds & Gradients
Choosing slightly muted color-ways to evoke a sense of calmness and utilizing sharp edges and lines to convey a sense of clarity and trust. Additionally, incorporating a silver gradient and a half-tone overlay to enhance brand perception to be more modernized.
3D Mockups
E-Commerce Segment
Using Natural Factor's brand colors, this is how I would sub-sequently design an ad segment for the rebranded prodcuts for platforms such as Amazon.
